In the 1920’s, when a Bloomington family wanted a quality carpenter, there was one name that was always recommended: Henry Wininger. Henry built a reputation around his immense skills and attention to detail. He was also known for his honesty, hard work and the quality of his designs in construction.

In the 1950’s, Henry’s son Tim Wininger, Sr. joined him. In addition to learning the skills of craftsmanship, Tim learned the values of doing a job right and building for generations to follow. Like his father before him, Tim’s son, Tom Wininger, joined his father and continued the family tradition. Tom Wininger is now the vice president and head of construction for WS Homes.

Now, three generations of Winingers have built a reputation for quality and pride of superior craftsmanship. Together, they have built some of Bloomington’s finest homes. Their success also included the development of luxury apartments and condominiums.

Tim Wininger, Sr.’s long-time business partner Eric Stolberg brings twenty years of experience in marketing, financing and developing residential communities to WS Homes. Eric, in partnership with Tim, has developed some of Bloomington’s finest residential neighborhoods, including Quail Ridge Condominiums, The Village of Windermere Woods, The Stands, Coppertree at The Stands, The Village of Saint Rémy and the neighborhoods of Winslow Farm. Now Eric’s son, Aaron Stolberg, has taken over the reins as president of WS Homes, Inc.

Today, Aaron Stolberg stands alongside Tim and Tom Wininger to make WS Homes a truly family-owned and operated business. In 2008, the company participated in Habitat for Humanity’s Builders Blitz in order to build a home for the Gaitan-Sosa family. The company’s latest project, Northern Manor apartments, brings WS Homes quality and value to the multi-family housing market in Bloomington. In recognition of the idea that “green” building is quality building, WS Homes is a Certified Green Professional™ and Energy Star Homebuilder.
